Tips for cooking bison meat

  • Bison will look redder than beef because it has lower fat content. (And more protein! Yes!) It will cook faster than beef.

  • Cook to at least 160 degrees, or cook to at least 145 degrees for medium rare steaks.

  • Get the grill hot and cook on high for 6 minutes a side.

  • Bison steaks are best if not cooked past medium. Remember, bison cooks faster than beef! We recommend about 6 minutes a side, just like the burgers.

  • Bison cooks in less time than beef.

    Cook bison hot and fast.

    Cook to 145 degrees for medium rare steaks (yum!) and to 160 degrees for everything else.
